ABOUT CAMPUS KITCHENS

Founded in 2001, the Campus Kitchens Project (CKP) is a national organization that empowers student volunteers to fight hunger in their community. CKP students at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore at Shady Grove use their prowess in the kitchen to create nutritious meals for families in need, lead workshops to teach cooking skills, and advocate for hunger awareness in Montgomery County.

The Universities at Shady Grove Campus Kitchens prepares more than 200 meals each month to the families participating with the Dwelling Place, Inc. The Dwelling Place provides transitional housing opportunities and support services in Montgomery County for families experiencing homelessness, helping them to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency.
